SWCD’s are special purpose units of government that manage and direct local conservation programs.  All programs are focused on assisting landowners with implementing voluntary conservation to protect the health of lakes, rivers, and other natural resources in Carver County.

A Supervisor should have a strong interest in conservation of natural resources.  Supervisors meet monthly to discuss and approve SWCD business items including conservation program policy, expenditure of grant funds, reviewing partner agency reports, and overseeing staff activities.  Supervisors do not receive a salary, but are compensated a per diem for attending meetings and reimbursed for expenses.

If interested, please submit a letter of interest to the Carver County SWCD. Include a little bit about yourself, why you are interested in conservation, and why you think you would be a good fit to serve on the Carver SWCD Board of Supervisors.

Letters of interest should be received by the SWCD office no later than Wednesday, June 18 at 4:00 P.M. The Carver County SWCD Board of Supervisors will review the letters, and the successful applicant will be appointed at a future board meeting.  The appointed member will serve on the Board until December 31, 2026. If interested in serving longer, the individual can apply for election to the position during the general election process in 2026.

Letters of interest should be sent to:
